Bass Pond!

This weekend was beautiful so we decided to head out to the bass ponds to do a little fishing and outside exploring.  Andrew loves playing outside especially when there is any water involved. We found a nice little bass pond where everyone is happy!  Mike catches fish, Andrew throws rocks in the water, Caleb lies on a blanket checking out the trees and sky, and I sit back and relax! 

Usually, we hike the little trail leading to the pond and set up a little area for the boys.  They are always perfectly content hanging out by the water and I just love sitting out there reading and watching them play.  Mike is like a kid in a candy store, he is so excited!  After awhile, the boys and I head back down the trail to throw rocks off the bridge.  This makes them extremely happy as you can see below!!!

Andrew is now at the age where he prefers to walk.  If you put him in the stroller, he says, "ah, walk".  Once he gets out,  patience is key as he is a slow walker and likes to check out every little thing on the trail, including mud, horse poop, snake holes, and of course, rocks.  A walk that normally takes five minutes ends up taking more like an hour.

   

At the end of the night, it's a great thing if we are heading home with a nice sized fish like this one.
