Our neighbors have goats and chickens that we are always feeding our fruit and veggie scraps to. Usually Andrew picks a few green tomatoes from the garden to add to the bucket and then we make it a big deal to go down to the fence and feed the animals the food we have collected. Mike even carried a little bench down to the fence so Andrew could stand and throw the veggies over. Secretly, Andrew just likes hitting the goats and the chickens and cracks up if he ever makes one jump by hitting the back of it. Well, tonight I decided to just call up the neighbor and ask if we could go in the pen and feed the animals. She was more than willing and so the boys and I loaded up in the double stroller and headed out. When we first arrived, Andrew asked not to go in the gate. I didn't mind because I was already holding Caleb and I thought Andrew would jump into my arms as well once the goats got anywhere near him. He ended up feeding most of the food through the gate. Then pretty soon he said, "Go in gate feed goats and chickens." In we went and the animals all came running, but to my surprise Andrew wasn't even scared! He just started petting them and giving them noses. There are two little baby goats and they were chasing each other all over the place and Andrew was cracking up. I finally put Caleb down and he wasn't scared either. He was way more interested in the hay. We had a fun night!
