Yay! It's finally that time of year again! Every year around Mother's Day, we plant our garden. Off to OSH we went to select all the perfect plants. Andrew loved all the landscaping displays at OSH and we were happy to have him occupied while we shopped. What could a two year old love more than throwing rocks in all the display fountains??? This year, we decided to stick with the basics: tomatoes, jalapenos, zucchini, eggplant, beans, peas, radishes, and an assortment of chili peppers. Earlier we planted potatoes and artichokes which are both just about ready to eat!

Mike borrowed the neighbors rototiller so that we could mix up all the leaves (we cover the garden with oak leaves in the fall), manure, compost, and peat moss. Looking good in his Hawaii hat!
After we finished rototilling, we worked on setting up the drip system and deciding where each plant will grow the best. Doesn't the soil look spectacular?
And here is the finished project!
After the garden planting, we were lucky enough to have a little barbecue with the Scofield and Nemitz families (who both helped with the yard work and garden planting). We ate and then headed out to our favorite little fishing hole to catch some bass! Here are the Nemitz boys with their catch of the day!
One other note about the weekend...Andrew has been really excited about holding brother lately! Here is a perfect brother picture!
