Our House

Well, needless to say, there is always a ton of work to be done around our house.  For starters, the yard pretty much needs to be mowed year round and the pool has to be kept up even in the winter months.  Then, there is the general maintenance and the additional things like the garden.  This year, we decided to have the exterior of the house painted since it was getting quite weathered.  We picked out a nice dark blueish color and I think it looks pretty amazing!


One might wonder what the boys are doing while all this work is going on.  Well, if they are not napping (which conveniently they like to do at the same time these days) then they are outside with us.  Andrew is always a big help and pretty much likes to follow us around helping, picking up sticks, throwing rocks, or jumping on the trampoline.  Caleb likes to enjoy the shade on a blanket in the grass with a few toys and of course his binky.

Another project we have going is tree planting.  We have to give kudos to Mike's coworker, Sam who supplies us with plenty of liquid amber starters.  We like to strategically place these around the yard so that in a few years they will provide us with some nice shade in the summer and color in the fall.  Notice the tree is exactly the height of Andrew.  I guess this will be a good comparison over the years!

 Then, there are the yearly things we have to get done, like fixing the sprinklers and cleaning the pool filter.

Usually, we have to mix all of our work with a little play so we spend half the time swimming!!!

Now this year, we are attempting to get everything done in the next two weeks since we are leaving on our road trip to Lake Powell, Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming.  Here are some funny pics preparing for the trip!

One last thing...As I was taking the boys upstairs for their nap I snapped this darling picture.  I can already imagine the trouble these boys will be getting into together!
